About the mission

During the visit of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to the Netherlands in April 2008 a Memorandum of Understanding on Education was signed between the Netherlands and Brazil. As provisioned in the Memorandum, Nuffic Neso Brazil was established in the same year in Brasília. Nuffic Neso Brazil is the representative office of Nuffic, the Netherlands organization for international cooperation in higher education, a foundation entirely financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education.
The Netherlands and Brazil have shown great interest for (further) cooperation in higher education and research. With this reason Nuffic is organizing an official Dutch higher education mission to Brazil. The Dutch delegation consists of representatives of the two national university associations, nine higher education institutions and Nuffic. The objectives of the mission are:
- Intensive meeting with the Brazilian higher education and further exploration of cooperation.
- Presenting the Netherlands and its outstanding higher education and research.
The mission will visit the cities of Brasilia, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The participants will visit Brazilian universities, participate on the Nuffic Capes seminar, among other activities.
