In order to get the official recognition of foreign diplomas in Brazil, one must go to the department of “Equivalencias e Revalidações” at the Brazilian Ministry of Education. There are 3 different types of application. 1. Total Revalidation 2. Dictamen Tecnico 3. Revalidacão Parcial For specific information in regard of the requirements, you can contact the department of “Equivalencias y Revalidações” of the Brazilian Ministry of Education or you can contact the NESO office in Brazil.
Total Revalidation is necessary in order to obtain a “carteira professional”, the permit that testifies that you have a bachelor or master degree and that you are capable to work in the field of your study. This permit is only necessary if the company or organization where you will work in Brazil requires it.
This type of revalidation is necessary if you will study a course at a private higher education institute on your own (outside the exchange agreements between universities).
You will need a partial revalidation if you would like to continue unfinished studies at a private higher education institute in Brazil.
